Flathead Area Mountain Bikers provides free Youth Mountain Bike Skills Clinics, open to kids aged 8-16 of all skill levels. Our Youth Clinics are designed to be fun group rides that focus on skill development, safety, and responsible trail use.
We meet at various locations (specified below) at 10am and ride trails for three hours, focusing on mountain biking technique and proper trail etiquette. We split up into groups of different skill and age levels. No prior mountain biking experience is necessary (but kids do need to bring their own well-functioning mountain bike and a helmet). Advance registration is now required for all attendees.
2025 FAMB membership for your child is required prior to registering for clinics.
Clinics have a 21-attendee limit, but there will be a wait list beyond that. If you register your child for a clinic and realize s/he can't make it, please log back in to your account and cancel your registration or email our Executive Director to let us know we should cancel the registration(s).
Other kids on the wait list will thank you!
Day of Clinic: Plan on arriving at least 15-20 minutes before each clinic for check-in and bike safety inspection.
Make sure your child has a functioning mountain bike, a helmet (required), water and snacks, a backpack to carry any of this, and appropriate clothing and footwear. Feel free to contact our Executive Director with any questions that you have!
