Taylor Hellroaring Project Comments - Short Form

​​Public comments for the Taylor Hellroaring Project are due on Friday April 28, 2017. This is a proposal to build a new network of trails on the Whitefish Face, to the north and west of Whitefish Mountain Resort. These trails would connect to the existing trails on Whitefish Mountain Resort and to the Whitefish Trail as well as to the network of trails to the north of the resort. FAMB has been instrumental in crafting this proposal and strongly supports this project. 

This project needs your voice and support NOW. 
Comments must be submitted to the Forest Service no later than Friday, April 28, 2017. Comments can be emailed to: [email protected]

Here are some talking points that FAMB suggests:
-I support the trails proposed in the Taylor Hellroaring Project. I also support the comments submitted by FAMB regarding this project.  
-A well designed trail network that connects existing trail systems and that offers a variety of loop opportunities will be beneficial to the community, both for local trail users and for the economic benefits it will bring to the valley.
-The Whitefish area needs easily accessible trails that provide opportunities for longer, more challenging rides. Existing trails in the area are either difficult to access, or do not provide the length and elevation gain offered by the proposed trails.
-The proposal is beneficial because it provides better access to existing backcountry trails like the Ralph Thayer Memorial Trail and the Smokey Range Trail.
 
Comments must be submitted in rich text format (.rtf), Word (.doc), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), or Word Perfect format. Comments should be addressed to Project Leader Deb Bond, and the subject line must contain the name of the project: “Taylor Hellroaring Project”. You should normally receive an automated electronic acknowledgement from us as confirmation of receipt.
