Why is your membership important for the club? Just to name a few, your membership fee goes to: – It allows us to dig! We need hand tools, chainsaws, and brush cutters for trail work, which is exceedingly tough on hand tools. – Programming Costs. Professional instruction for our Youth Clinics (which are free to FAMB members), transportation fees for our youth scholarship program, planning and hosting member events and group rides, and poster printing to keep you in the loop, – Armory Pump Track construction and maintenance expenses. – Paid Trail Crew. Each year, we pay trail crew to build and maintain Spencer Trails. We are currently pushing to fund a separate, roving paid trail crew to work on heavily-trafficked trails in the National Forest, on the Whitefish Trail, and in Herron Park. – Advocacy efforts geared toward keeping you in the loop about important mountain bike access issues as they develop, and letting you know how you can use your voice to help preserve and enhance mountain bike access on local trails. – Grant writing, grant management, and project management by our Executive Director to fund more trail projects in the Flathead. – Spencer Trails Land Use License - we pay the DNRC over $5,000 annually for this recreational use license, which is what allows all users to recreate on this state trust land. – Club insurance. Land managers require insurance for trail projects, and unfortunately, this is quite a large expense for us. – Your membership gives a collective voice for the mountain biking community. Want to share more of your voice? Members are always needed to attend land meetings, do trail work, volunteer for programs/clinics and be a positive influence on the community. Contact our President if you're willing and able to help!
